The LUMINYX Outdoor Lamp Controllers (OLC’s) actually do a lot more than the name suggests. Of course they manage the light level by controlling the ballast and switch it on or off but they also have an extensive monitoring function. They provide all the data needed to optimize the energy consumption, the lamp life and the maintenance routine. The LUMINYX OLC is designed to optimize lamp life by applying special techniques to start the lamp before commencing the dimming cycle.

The LUMINYX OLC’s are available for ballasts from different manufacturers and have interfaces for 1-10 volt, DALI and some vendor specific ballasts like the ones from SELC, Metrolight and others. This makes the solution very flexible and independent from ballast manufacturer what gives the freedom to choose the luminaire freely as well.

Of course the controller switches the system off when a lamp is faulty or a situation occurs that can harm the installation.

The OLC can be mounted in the luminaire or in the pole based on the physical situation and customer preference. The OLC communicates with the segment controller over the regular Powerline using the very reliable LonWorks® technology. There are OLC's available for most voltage situations and are fully CENELEC approved.
